Domains on EBay
EBay can be a great place to start domaining. Of course there are some risk involved but none that are insurmountable. For instance:
* Always do your due diligence - check whois - domain expiration ( many times people will attempt to recoup domains fees by selling domains months or weeks before the domain expires;this is not unnecessarily a bad thing, but if you are not aware that a name is expiring soon, it can be an unexpected surprise. depending on the price and value of the domain, this can become very expensive, very quickly, especially if you have lot of domains.
* Be careful when buying old domains, occasionally you may run across an domain that had expired and was purchased and now is being resold. Your check may even show some traffic coming into the domain. Be mindful, that some time older sites have have had graphics that are linked to popular site and will appear to have unique visitors when in actuality, the traffic is generated by someone linking to an image that was previously associated with the site.
* Be VERY careful of copyrighted terms in domain names, in recent years, as the world become increasing Internet savvy, companies are becoming more aggressive in challenging domain owners about site that may appear to infringe on their brands or trade marks.
