Buying Domains During Tough Times

What should Domainers being do in these tough times. Honestly, I am in no position to advise anyone in the area of Domaining. I have only been at this for about a year or so. there are many more seasoned Domainers that can give better advice.

However, I can make these observation, much like any market, the Stock Market comes to mind, you will have many different kinds of investors. In the past week, I have read advice that says to prune non-performing domains. The can be good for both parties, even though the domains maybe non-performing in their current state, a new owner, maybe all that is needed to stark new life. Wouldn’t it be cool to see domains with banners that read “Under New Management”? The domainers that are holding on to their domains are deciding to put more into developing these sites, this will be good for the Internet in general as some of the better names may start to show more relevant information, increasing the value of domain names in general.

Another plus, as the more domains are liquidated the opportunity to find quality names increase giving new investors an opportunity to purchase names that they may have not been able to afford otherwise.

Additionally, the slowdown will allow more serious development of current technologies and perhaps the development of the next big thing as domain owners look for new was to engage online users.

So, what show you be doing in these trouble times, well it depends.
